Pizza Party Calculator
Calculate how many pizzas to order for your party based on guests, appetite, and pizza size.
Pizza party planning requires knowing how many slices each person will eat and how many slices per pizza by size. Getting this wrong means either wasted pizza or hungry guests.
Standard pizza sizes and slices:
- Small (10 inch / 25 cm) — 6 slices, feeds 1–2 people
- Medium (12 inch / 30 cm) — 8 slices, feeds 2–3 people
- Large (14 inch / 36 cm) — 10 slices, feeds 3–4 people
- Extra Large (16 inch / 41 cm) — 12 slices, feeds 4–5 people
Average consumption by appetite:
- Light eaters — 1–2 slices (children, light appetites)
- Average eaters — 2–3 slices (most adults)
- Hungry eaters — 4–5 slices (teens, athletes, big appetites)
The pizza area secret: A large 14-inch pizza has 154 square inches of pizza. Two small 10-inch pizzas have only 157 square inches combined. So one large pizza gives you almost the same amount of food as two smalls — but costs much less. Always order larger sizes for better value.
Topping variety rule: For groups over 6 people, order at least 2–3 different toppings. A safe ratio is: 40% cheese/pepperoni (crowd pleasers), 30% specialty (meat lovers, supreme), 20% vegetarian, and 10% based on specific preferences.
Side dishes reduce pizza consumption by about 20%. If you are serving salad, wings, breadsticks, or other sides, reduce your pizza estimate accordingly.
Leftover tip: Cold pizza is universally loved. It is better to over-order by 10–15% than to run short. One extra pizza is cheap insurance against hungry guests.
Cost tip: Check if your pizza place offers party deals. Most chains have bulk pricing for 5 or more pizzas that saves 15–25% compared to ordering individually.
