Party Supply Calculator

Calculate how many plates, cups, napkins, and utensils you need for your party or event based on guest count.

Supplies Needed

Party supply planning ensures you have enough for all guests without over-buying.

Per-guest estimates (casual party, 3-4 hours):

  • Plates: 2–3 per person (appetizer + main course + dessert)
  • Cups: 2–3 per person (people lose track of cups)
  • Napkins: 3–4 per person (they get used and discarded)
  • Forks: 2 per person
  • Knives: 1 per person
  • Spoons: 1 per person

Buffet-style rule of thumb: People eat more variety at buffets. Expect ~20% more plate usage.

Standard pack sizes:

  • Plates: usually 20, 50, or 100 packs
  • Cups: usually 16, 50, or 100 packs
  • Napkins: usually 50, 100, or 200 packs
  • Utensils: usually 24 or 48 per set

Buffer: Always buy 15–20% extra to account for spills, drops, and unexpected guests.
