Motorcycle Service Interval Calculator

Track your motorcycle service intervals.
Calculate when your next oil change, chain lube, and major service are due.

Service Due In

Regular maintenance is the single biggest factor in motorcycle reliability and longevity. Most manufacturers specify service intervals by either distance (km/miles) or time (months) — whichever comes first.

Typical service intervals:

Service Interval
Engine oil + filter 5,000–10,000 km or 6 months
Chain clean + lube Every 500–1,000 km
Chain tension check Every 500–1,000 km
Brake fluid Every 2 years
Coolant Every 2 years
Spark plugs 12,000–24,000 km
Valve clearance 12,000–24,000 km
Tires When worn or cracked (3–5 years max)
Air filter 10,000–20,000 km

Oil change maths: If you ride 10,000 km/year and your interval is 6,000 km, you need ~1.7 oil changes per year. Splitting it roughly means every 7 months.

Why time matters too: Oil degrades through oxidation even if the bike sits unused. A bike ridden only 1,000 km over 12 months still needs its oil changed annually.

Sport bikes vs. touring bikes: High-revving sport bikes (inline-4 engines running 10,000–14,000 RPM) need more frequent valve checks than low-revving V-twins. Always follow the manufacturer schedule in the owner’s manual — this calculator gives a general estimate.
