Ideal Gas Law Calculator

Calculate pressure, volume, moles, or temperature using the ideal gas law PV = nRT.
Supports all four solve modes.

Pressure
Volume
Moles
Temperature

The Ideal Gas Law relates pressure, volume, temperature, and amount of gas:

PV = nRT

Where:

  • P = Pressure (atm)
  • V = Volume (liters)
  • n = Amount of substance (moles)
  • R = Gas constant = 0.08206 L·atm/(mol·K)
  • T = Temperature (Kelvin)

Rearranged forms:

  • P = nRT / V
  • V = nRT / P
  • n = PV / RT
  • T = PV / nR

Common conditions:

  • Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP): 273.15 K, 1 atm
  • At STP, 1 mole of ideal gas occupies 22.414 liters

Temperature conversion: K = °C + 273.15
