Your Weight Across the Solar System
Weight on another planet:
Weight_planet = Weight_Earth × (g_planet / g_Earth)
Where g is the surface gravity of each body.
Unit conversions:
- Pounds to kilograms: divide by 2.205
- Kilograms to pounds: multiply by 2.205
Surface gravity multipliers (relative to Earth = 1.0):
| Body | Gravity | 100 lb on Earth = |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury | 0.378 | 37.8 lb |
| Venus | 0.907 | 90.7 lb |
| Earth | 1.000 | 100 lb |
| Mars | 0.377 | 37.7 lb |
| Jupiter | 2.528 | 252.8 lb |
| Saturn | 1.065 | 106.5 lb |
| Uranus | 0.886 | 88.6 lb |
| Neptune | 1.137 | 113.7 lb |
| Moon | 0.166 | 16.6 lb |
| Sun | 27.95 | 2,795 lb |
Note: Weight depends on surface gravity, not the planet’s size. Saturn is huge but has low density, so its surface gravity is only slightly more than Earth’s.
