Social Media Follower Value Calculator
Calculate the monetary value of your social media followers based on engagement rate, conversion rate, and average order value.
Social follower value estimates the monetary worth of your audience on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Twitter/X. Brands and investors use this to price sponsorships, acquisitions, and partnership deals.
The primary formula:
Follower Value = Engagement Rate × Follower Count × CPE
Where CPE is the Cost Per Engagement a brand is willing to pay (typically $0.01–$0.10 per engagement for most niches).
Alternative: Revenue-per-follower method:
Annual Follower Value = Annual Revenue / Total Followers
What each variable means:
- Engagement Rate: likes plus comments plus shares, divided by followers. Healthy is 1 to 5% on Instagram and 3 to 10% on TikTok
- CPE: what a brand pays per engagement in your niche, usually a few cents
- Follower Count: total audience size, and the input that matters least of the three
Worked example: An Instagram fitness account has 80,000 followers and an engagement rate of 4.5%.
Monthly engagements = 80,000 × 0.045 = 3,600 At a CPE of $0.05: monthly value = 3,600 × $0.05 = $180 At a CPE of $0.10: monthly value = 3,600 × $0.10 = $360/month
A brand deal for a single post might be worth $500–$2,000 for an account this size in the fitness niche.
Typical sponsored post rates by follower tier:
- Nano (1K–10K): $10–$100 per post
- Micro (10K–100K): $100–$1,000 per post
- Macro (100K–1M): $1,000–$10,000 per post
- Mega (1M+): $10,000+ per post
Engagement rate matters far more than follower count. An account with 20,000 people who reply routinely commands more than one with 200,000 who scroll past, and it is cheaper to reach them.
