Percent to Goal Calculator
Track progress toward any target.
Enter your current value and goal to calculate the percentage achieved, amount remaining, and how close you are.
Percent to goal is the ratio of your current value to your target, expressed as a percentage:
% of goal = (current / goal) × 100
If you are at 750 and the goal is 1,000, you are 75% there with 250 remaining.
The starting value field is optional. When you fill it in, the calculator also shows your progress measured from your starting point — which is often a more honest view of momentum. If your sales goal is 1,000, you started at 400, and you are now at 700, you have covered 50% of the gap (not 70% of the absolute target).
When the current value exceeds the goal, the percentage will go over 100%. That is not an error — it is the expected result when you surpass a target. The chart caps at 100% visually.
Common uses:
Sales targets — monthly quota tracking. Revenue at 85K, goal is 100K. 85% done, 15K to go.
Fitness goals — weight loss, step counts, distance milestones. Running total vs target mileage for the year.
Savings goals — current balance vs savings target. Progress on a house deposit or emergency fund.
Academic progress — pages written vs thesis target, hours studied vs goal hours for an exam.
Manufacturing — units produced vs production target for the shift.
The formula is the same in every case. The meaning changes with context.
