How YouTube Sponsorship Rates Work
YouTube sponsorships are priced per 1,000 views (CPM — Cost Per Mille). Brands pay based on how many real viewers see the sponsored segment.
Niche CPM Rates (approximate 2024)
- General / Entertainment: $20/1,000 views
- Health / Fitness: $25/1,000 views
- Finance / Business / Tech: $40/1,000 views
- Gaming: $15/1,000 views
Sponsorship Types
- Pre-roll (0:00–0:30): 50% of full CPM rate
- Mid-roll integration (60 seconds): 100% of CPM rate
- Dedicated video (entire video): 3× CPM rate
Rate Formula Sponsorship Rate = (Avg Views / 1,000) × CPM Rate
Annual Sponsorship Income Potential Assuming 2 brand deals per month: Annual = Sponsorship Rate × 2 × 12
Note Views used = average per-video views (more predictive than subscriber count). A channel with 100k subscribers but 5k average views earns far less than one with 50k subscribers and 30k average views.
